viaduct square, fanshawe and hardinge streets, Auckland city

A mixed use fourteen level complex on Fanshawe and Hardinge Streets in the city incorporating 170 apartments, 3,700m2 of prime office space, and 700m2 of retail space. This project obtained Urban design Panel and Resource Consent approval, but has yet to proceed to construction.

Westermans Building Restoration, Hastings

This building is one of the most prominent Art Deco buildings in Hawkes Bay – a real landmark on the corner of Heretaunga and Russell Streets. Fat Parrot worked on this project over a period of several years, first restoring the ground floor and fitting it out as the new i-site shop. A few years later, we restored and fitted the upper level out as executive offices for a lawyers firm and a Charity Trust. This involved recreating some of the intricate woodwork and joinery, light fittings, plaster mouldings, signage, cabinetry, etc. to match the existing finishes and fittings Fat Parrot was awarded a Commendation by the Art Deco Trust in 2002 and 2004 for this project.

 NZ Crane Hire

This comprehensive extension and refurbishment included work on the crane workshop, new office and administration area.

Architecture is really about well-being. I think that people want to feel good in a space… On the one hand it’s about shelter, but it’s also about pleasure
