FAT PARROT ARCHITECTS

Architecture is really about wellbeing. I think people want to feel good in a space… on the one hand it’s about shelter but it’s also about pleasure”- Zaha Hadid

THE FAT PARROT STORY

Founded in 1999 by John Borsboom and Pierre du Toit, Fat Parrot Architecture started up in a small office space in central Auckland.

After successfully completing some large architectural projects, the Auckland office moved to Albany on the North Shore, under John and Graeme Fanselow’s directorship. Pierre moved to Hawke’s Bay and set up the office there, with Paul Taylor and Judith Cunningham later joining Graeme and John to run the growing Auckland practice.

Fat Parrot Architecture has developed through a lot of hard work and determination, along with supportive clients, sub-consultants and project managers. The company has successfully continued to grow and we now have a staff of 13 in Auckland, along with the Hawke’s Bay Fat Parrot team.

We are always excited by opportunities to create, or improve, spaces and provide innovative and practical solutions for our clients.
